This series of pencil drawings with watercolor was created as part of the live visual environment for Elsiane’s debut album Hybrid (2007). Emerging directly from the visual language of Mend, these works translate the contorted, organic form into a more fluid and atmospheric register.

Rendered through delicate graphite lines and translucent washes, the drawings evoke internal landscapes—forms that feel at once bodily and otherworldly. Like Mend, they carry a duality: inside and outside, masculine and feminine, structure and dissolution.

Developed for projection within Elsiane’s live performances, these images were brought into motion through animation. In this expanded state, the drawings became immersive—shifting, breathing, and unfolding in time with the music—extending the visual identity of Hybrid into a living, sensory experience.
